Day 1 - Departure for Tbilisi
Day 2 - Tbilisi city tour
Tbilisi city sitghseeing program – walking in old town and historical centre. While walking you will explore in one of the first districts of our capital and enjoy colourful houses, wooden balconies and wonderful samples of architecture. You will start tour from Metekhi church (12-13 century), from where opens magnificient view to old Tbilisi. Later walk towards Tamada statue and historical caravansaray. Visit Sioni cathedral (6-7 century), Peace Bridge and Clock tower.
Day 3 - Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Gori - Uplistsikhe - Borjomi
You will visit Georgia’s ancient capital Mtskheta and historical sites which are in UNESCO world heritage list. Svetitskhoveli cathedral (11 century) is known as burial place of Christ’s robe and Jvari monastery (6 century) which offers magnificent view over old capital. Later we drive to Gori, town where is was born Stalin and then visit Uplistsikhe cave town (1 millennium BC) which prospering while Great Silk Road passed this area . Here you have chance to see caves hewn out in rock, antic theatre, wine cellar, prison, churches and secret tunnel. Our last stop will be in Borjomi, visit national park and taste famous mineral water.
Day 4 - Borjomi - Vardzia - Borjomi
We will visit magnificent cave town Vardzia which belongs to country’s golden age epoch. In the complex are many important buildings like living caves, wine cellar, pharmacy, church hewn out in rock with amazing frescos and etc. Before driving back to Borjomi will make several photostops in historical fortresses.
Day 5 - Borjomi - Ananuri - Kazbegi
We drive to one of the most beautiful part of Georgia, Khevi region along the famous Georgian Military highway, which is leading to the Georgia-Russian border. Our first stop will be at Ananuri fortress (17 century), which overlooks Jinvali water reservoir and amazes spectators. Here you can see towers and churches, on which carvings are best samples of Georgian ornaments. Continue driving to Gudauri ski resort through Great Caucasus mountains and Cross Pass (2395m), highest point of military highway. Later arrive in small town Kazbegi.
Day 6 - Kazbegi - Gergeti church - Tbilisi
Today we walk uphill to Gergeti trinity church (14 century, 2200m) through small village and forest before getting ton our destination. If weather permits you can witness highest mountain and glacier – Kazbegi (5047m).
Day 7 - Tbilisi - Sighnaghi - Gremi - Tbilisi
At first visit small but very beautiful town Sighnaghi which is called “city of love”. Town is surrounded by defensive wall and towers and gives chance to have stunning view of Alazany valley and Great Caucasus mountains. We also visit nearby monastery Bodbe where is grave of Saint Nino, who converted Georgian people to Christianity. Later we drive to Gremi to visit museum and citadel. Afterwards drive back to Tbilisi through Gombori path.
